What makes something a treasure?
Inspired by Jesus’ parable in Matthew 13:44, this outdoor adventure invites children to search, wonder, create, and follow their imaginations. We’ll begin with a warm welcome, then share a Bible story, prayer, and snack. From there, children will have plenty of time for child-led play with natural materials and thoughtfully chosen items to spark their curiosity.
They might build a place to hide a treasure, make a map, invent a story together, or discover something entirely their own. We’ll close with lunch and time to reflect on the day.

I wonder how we can spread the Good News about Jesus?
Inspired by Acts 16 we will read The Prisoners, the Earthquake, and the Midnight Song, to hear how Paul and Silas shared the good news about Jesus in an unexpected place. Then, with messages, pretend phones, and other open-ended materials, children can explore their own ways of sharing good news through play.

I wonder what you could create from borrowed parts?
Inspired by Psalm 139:13 and Genesis 1:27, we’ll read Scarecrow by Cynthia Rylant and relate the story to how how God lovingly created each of us in His image, with purpose and care. Then, using fabric, loose parts, natural treasures, and imagination, children can build scarecrows, invent characters, or follow their own ideas through extended outdoor play.

I wonder what we could create to help everyone feel welcome in our woodland village?
Inspired by woodland stories and Romans 12:13, we’ll explore how we can share God’s love by welcoming and caring for others. Then, with crates, blankets, kitchen props, natural materials, and other props, children can build cozy woodland homes, open pretend cafés, make deliveries to neighbors, or follow their own ideas through extended outdoor play.
